Stories Worth Sharing

We would like very much to hear your side of the story, the ones behind your designs, that is. We believe that knowledge and experience is only worth something if you share it with others, and this is an invitation for you to do so.

Held in the spacious Galeri Soemardja, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Soemardja: A Design Weekend is an event where young designers and enthusiasts gather to share their perspectives in a close-knit showcase, with a relaxed and designer friendly atmosphere.

Along with the storytelling and design lullaby, we like to put our money where our mouth is. There will be the ADW Design Mart also, where you can sell your own designs without selling out.

The Show and Tell Format

Soemardja: A Design Weekend is an event that is made by designer for designers. We personally know very well the need get your design message out to the people out there. So, we'll just rid of the ceremonies, skip the formalities, and make an event where you can meet face to face with your future fan base.

What we'll basically do is simple. We'll invite a number of guests , select interesting minds along with their design works, gather a bunch of displaying tables and provide an open space for all to interact. To ensure all will be heard, each designer will be given an equal opportunity to presents their works to audience.

During the event, each participating designer will be given one table for displaying, The table also acts as your own personal ADW Mart Booth, so you can interact directly with guests, explain your design, and sell them directly . Also, each participant will be interviewed live, on their table, and we expect to hear full details about the designs,. Starting from how the idea initially started, obstacles encountered and the solutions, even about what favorite tool to use and what time of day that's best for working.

Terms and Condition:
What we will prepare for you :
- Displaying table, 60 x 120 cm
- Giant oversized poster containing your profile, (placed as background)
- Open minded guests, or future fans.

What you should prepare ( only two! )
- Your design works
- Lots of business cards.

*We recommend that you bring products that you can display on the table.

ADW

A Design Weekend 2010,

ADW adalah suatu bentukan acara dimana desainer-desainer ʻmudaʼ bisa memamerkan
karya-karya mereka dalam suasana yang santai dan informal. Peserta akan disediakan sebuah meja dimana mereka bisa memajang, bercerita dan bahkan menjual karyanya secara langsung.

Fokus acara ini adalah desainer, karyanya, dan cerita serta pemikiran di balik karya
mereka tersebut, dan semua akan diberikan kesempatan yang sama untuk
mempresentasikan karyanya masing-masing. Maka, agar semua desainer punya
kesempatan yang cukup untuk menjelaskan, peserta akan dibatasi sebanyak 20 orang.

Acara akan diadakan di Galeri Soemardja, kampus ITB, Bandung, pada bulan September 2010. Setiap peserta akan disediakan meja/tempat berukuran yang sama, lengkap dengan papan nama dan tanda pengenal. Peserta hanya perlu membawa diri dan karya yang hendak dipamerkan. Sesuai dengan fokus acara, kami mengharapkan agar desainer yang terpilih dapat menghadiri keseluruhan rangkaian acara dan dapat mempresentasikan desainnya secara langsung.

ADW is an event where the young and ʻyoung at heartʼ designers and design enthusiasts
can showcase their designs in a relaxed, informal atmosphere,and can present and also sell their works directly.
This eventʼs main focus is about the designers, their works, and the ideas that surrounds them. Besides the interactive nature of this event ( the eventʼs format and layout is designed for direct interaction ) each participant will be provided with an equal opportunity to present their works to the audience.
This event will held at Galeri Soemardja, ITB campus, Bandung ini September 2010. Each participant will be given the same space, with sign board and name tag included,

no individual decoration is needed. Due to the nature of this event, every designer should attend ADW in person and participate directly in presenting their designs.
